Year Two Classroom Information

Homework & Spellings

Homework and  Reading books are taken home each Friday and are to be returned to school the following Monday.  I would ask all parents to ensure that they listen to their child and record it in their reading records.

The spellings for your child are sent home each Friday and contain all the spellings your child will be covering that half term. They also include the list of Year 2 Common Exception Words. The spellings tests will take place the following  Friday.

Physical Education takes place on Thursday afternoons. Please ensure that your child has a white polo shirt, green shorts and black pumps. It would greatly help the staff, if your child's PE kits are labelled with their names on.

The Daily Mile

Each day, we do the Daily Mile. We are working very hard to stay fit and to become fitter. We love the Daily Mile in Year 2.

 Lunch is from 12.15 - 1.15

Additional Class Information

Year Two take part in Dance sessions on Fridays . Please ensure your child has their PE kits in school on Fridays.

Star of the Week

We have the Star of the Week, which is awarded each Friday to any children who have demonstrated good work or super behaviour. The children receive a Star of the Week certificate and a badge.

Raffle Tickets

Individual children are also rewarded raffle tickets, which will be totalled at the end of the half term. Whoever has the most raffle tickets, wins a prize from our  Prize Box.

Table points for groups of children are also awarded daily and the total added up each Friday. Winning tables display our Class Trophy.
