Year Two Classroom Information

Homework & Spellings

Homework is sent home on a Friday and is due back in on Monday.

The spellings for your child are sent home each Friday. Spelling sheets should be kept at home so the children can keep practicing. They will be tested on the spellings on the following Friday. They also include the Year 2 Common Exception Words.

Reading Books
Reading books are sent home twice a week:
Sent home Friday - return on Monday
Sent home Tuesday - return on Thursday

Please sign the reading record before returning the book to school.

Physical Education takes place on Thursday and Friday. Please ensure that your child has a white polo shirt or t-shirt, green shorts and black pumps. It would greatly help the staff, if your child's PE kits are labelled with their names on.

The Daily Mile

Each day, we do the Daily Mile. We are working very hard to stay fit and to become fitter. We love the Daily Mile in Year 2.

 Lunch is from 12.00- 1.15.

Additional Class Information

Superhero of the Day

We have a daily Superhero. This is awarded to children who demonstrate good work and behaviour. The children receive a Superhero status on our behaviour chart.

House Points

Children are split into four houses. They receive house points for good behaviour and work. At the end of the week the house points are added up and the house with the most points receive the trophy during our celebration assembly on Monday afternoons.

Here are links to the phonics phase appropriate for the class.
