Year Four Daily Timetable, Resources and Useful Websites
TIMETABLE - October 2020
We are currently moving to Google Classroom and I will send a password for you to in the next few days, In the meanwhile, you can access learning here.
Daily Timetables:
13th July - 17th July 2020
We made it!!! This is our last week together in this crazy, crazy year. I honestly can't wait for September because I have really missed seeing all your lovely faces around school. Honestly, I have really missed every single one of you. I want you to remember that you are my SUPERHEROES (strike that pose); you have made it through the 'Lockdown Challenge' and been working your socks off; thank you to all of you who have sent work in. I am so proud of you - we have had over 6600 hits to our remote learning!!! Thank you so much.
Next year, remember that you must ask questions and do not feel like you must know everything. There will be gaps, but Mrs Nixon will be there to help you through. It is okay not to know something and it is okay to make mistakes ... that is how we learn. Some of you worry, please try not to; it really doesn't help and makes you feel sad. It can be hard to stop, so when you feel like that have a chat with God, give him your worries to look after, then you could always read a book,do some art, research a topic or even ...ahem... do some work from the archive.
So, for the last week ... here is your timetable. Once again, remember to sign the guest book before you start. Links to each day's timetable are below
If you have any questions, you are welcome to email me at year4@st-patricks.oldham.sch.uk. You could also send me any work or photographs you'd like to share.
Remember, there are also six different 20 minute shows per weekday on BBC iPlayer, which you can get through your device or by pressing the red button on your TV.
(Please note: I may have used work from across Year 3 and Year 4 to revise concepts taught across Lower Key Stage 2).
A note to save on PRINTING ...
Not all documents need to be printed, you can read them and write down your answers in the exercise books you were given or on paper.
Some documents can be printed off once for the week. They are on each day of the daily timetable page to help you access them quickly. The documents that appear more than once this week are:
Handwriting practice_The moon by Robert Louis Stevenson
Summer 2 Spellings - Homophones with a long 'o' sound
I hope this helps!

Maths
We use the White Rose Maths scheme of work we use for maths. We would recommend they practise and consolidate learning from earlier in the year either by clicking on the White Rose Maths units or searching for the topic on Twinkl. If somebody confident is available in the house is available to work with them, lesson plans can be accessed herealso be accessed here:

TT Rockstars
Please also use the next few weeks to practice times tables on TT rockstars for ten minutes each day. The children have all got their log in details on the label of their blue Maths exercise book.and I can see who is using the app from my log in. https://play.ttrockstars.com/auth/school/student
Maths in the home:
Weights, measures and units of measure, eg millilitres, litres, grams, milligrams are also easily embedded at home, especially if the children are going to be helping out in the kitchen. Get children familiar with filling up jugs to a particular measurement, or converting measures from one unit to another eg grams into kilograms.
Teach your child how to tell the time on an analogue clock, including past, and to in 5 minute intervals.

Reading
The most valuable activity children can do is read. If the libraries are closed or you do not have books at home, texts can be found here:

Religious Education
The best religious education can be found not in what we do in a work book, but in what we do in our real lives, in your choices, how you act, and the love, kindness and compassion that you can show to everyone around you.
Please pray every day. Pray for the sick, vulnerable and elderly. Pray that they are shown love and compassion at this difficult time, and demonstrate your love and kindness towards them in the things you do.
Write a simple prayer to God each week, share it with your family, encourage others to pray every day. Faith will get us all through this, be a shining example of a person of faith, to other people in your home, and in the community.
As Easter approaches, I will put on some activities. We all celebrate Easter at St Patrick's as Catholics believe Jesus was the son of God and Muslims revere Him as a holy prophet.

Today is another live day at Chester Zoo. Part of our Science this year is about animals. I always find that in Year 4 we don't know about that many animals really, so going to the Zoo is a very educational visit. You can watch it on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/c/chesterzoo/live . If you miss a session, don't worry, you can catch up with it later (last week's animal talks are still there for you to watch.) Please do try and tune in at 12:00 to hear about Komodo dragons (the world’s largest lizards) and make notes about what you learn)
