RE
At St Patricks, our pupils and staff have a very strong sense of community, where we care and foster an ethos that encourages all to grow and succeed. We value and pride ourselves on being a caring community that welcomes all. Through our actions, we are witnesses to the values of the teachings of Jesus Christ, whilst welcoming all pupils of different beliefs to live out their faith.
We follow the Come and See Scheme, supported by the Salford Diocese, which enables all our children to deepen their understanding of God. The curriculum enables all our children to learn about the teachings of the Roman Catholic religion and relate these to their own beliefs.
RE is a very important area within the curriculum which encourages all our children to:
- Develop their knowledge and understanding
- To know and understand religious vocabulary and phrases
- To engage and respond
- To wonder
All staff ensure that these aims are carried out in their everyday teaching and also encourage the children to act out what they have learned and apply it, in their relationships with each other. This enables our children to be good citizens for the future.
Through the RE Curriculum, all our children are encouraged to express their faith through; prayer, worship, Art, Drama and writing. Encouraging all our children to express their faith through different avenues, will allow them to use these skills in everyday life, which will ultimately, help them to become closer to God.
