Phase 2

Phase 2 begins the introduction of graphemes (a letter or a number of letters) that represent a phoneme (sound). We blend sounds together to read words c, a, t makes cat and break them sounds up (segment) to write and spell words cat is broken into c, a, t. The children will also be taught tricky words which do not follow the phonic patterns they have been learning.
